From a ruin to a restaurant
Our history
This is us!
In 1994 this historic, 300 year old house was bought by the Austro-German family Gerhard & Karin Brodtrager with daughter Felicitas. The ruin was saved from demolition and converted into a place with a very special ambience. With a lot of passion and enthusiasm the “Casa Tagoro” restaurant was opened in the year 2000.

The Styrian chef of the house Gerhard Brodtrager completed his apprenticeship in Graz and then worked in Germany, France and Italy. His creations pay homage to the classic European cuisine. Thanks to his creativity Casa Tagoro serves skilfully refined, international delicacies, which reflect 100% Gerhard's passion and love for the art of cooking. His principle: "Every product I work with brings a history and I am just the storyteller".

Thirteen years passed by in which Karin Brodtrager, as the head of the restaurant, embellished the long evenings with excellent service and attentively cared for the guest. After studying to be a teacher in Munich she decided to dedicate her life to gastronomy and, together with her husband, they materialized their dream of opening a restaurant on Tenerife. A stroke of fate ended her career as a landlady, but it doesn’t prevent her, thanks to her organizational talent, from mastering all logistical tasks together with her daughter.
Felicitas, the youngest in the “Brodtrager house”, has grown out of her infancy and studies "Sustainable Tourism Development" abroad. Nevertheless she visits her parents regularly and is very committed to helping in the business.

In 2013 we moved our location to Los Cristianos and expanded our team.
But now we come back and pay our townhouse the honor it deserves, by bringing life back into the ancient walls.
